Who’s Qi’ra in Star Wars?
The Han Solo movie, starring Alden Ehrenreich, is set years before the original Star Wars trilogy at the height of the Galactic Empire. The film follows the adventures of a young Han before he crosses paths with Leia and Luke, after escaping the planet Corellia but losing his great love and companion of many years, Qi’ra. After promising to come back for her, Han enlists to be a pilot for the Empire and allies with Tobias Beckett, an important member of a criminal organization called Crimson Dawn and who ends up being his mentor. After meeting Chewbacca and meeting another famous name in the galaxy, Lando Calrissian, Han will go after the goal of rescuing Qi’ra, but it won’t be easy. Having been captured when Han managed to escape, Qi’ra was sold into slavery to Dryden Vos, who turned out to be the visible leader of the Crimson Dawn. Although the true character behind the criminal group was none other than Darth Maul, the great villain of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Becket betrays Vos and Han, and escapes taking Chewbacca hostage, while Qi’ra kills Vos. Han goes after his friend at the encouragement of his former partner, unaware that she won’t follow him as promised as she has another plans. Qi’ra’s story in the film ends with her contacting Maul to notify him of everything that has happened with Vos and Beckett, and she ends up being named as the new visible leader of the group, so there could be much more to tell about the character and her connection to episodes I, II and III of Star Wars.
